Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy strives to promote, maintain and improve your function and independence to maximize your quality of life.
Occupational Therapists collaborate with you, your family and a multidisciplinary team to facilitate a safe discharge from the Hospital through rehabilitation, education and assessments.
Members of the Health Care Team may request Occupational Therapy services if necessary. Interventions include: assessments of activities of daily living (bed mobility, toileting, bathing, dressing, meal preparation and feeding), mental and perceptual status, physical status, wheelchair evaluation, need for adaptive equipment (dressing aids, feeding utensils, bath seats, grab bars, raised toilet seats), splinting, home visits and treatment to improve functional status.
Our Occupational Therapists also help you and your family to gain access to community resources such as equipment vendors, Community Therapy Services and Society for Manitobans with Disabilities.
